SQL Server 2017 Step by Step Installation -1

Hi,

I will tell you step by step Microsoft SQL Server 2017 installation on Windows Server 2016 in this post.

 

 

Microsoft SQL Server 2017 is latest stable version of SQL Server now. Microsoft announced SQL Server 2019 one month ago but it will be released in Q2 2019 completely.

SQL Server 2017 has CU14 (14.0.3076.1, as of March 2019) and we can use it in Production database.

You can download latest SQL Server 2017 from Microsoft. Now lets go to start installation of SQL Server 2017.

Mount SQL Server 2017 installation iso file and start installation by clicking setup.exe.

 

 

Firstly select New SQL Server Stand-alone installation choice like following.

 

 

Enter Product key of SQL Server.

 

Accept the license terms.

 

Skip check for updates.

 

Click Next button to continue.

 

This step is very important, we need to choose right features that we will use in database.
