I got “ORA-07445: Exception Encountered: Core Dump ” error in Oracle database.
ORA-07445: Exception Encountered: Core Dump
Details of error are as follows.
ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [kkqctJuxtaposeGBP()+674] [SIGSEGV] [ADDR:0x0] [PC:0xAFB9052] [Address not mapped to object] []
Error: ORA-07445 exception encountered: core dump Cause : An operating system exception occurred which should result in the creation of a core file. This is an internal error. Action : Contact Oracle Customer Support.
Exception Encountered: Core Dump
This ORA-07445 errors are related with the Inconsistency with the cost based query transformation due to the query which is not well structured. This error is caused because of Too small undo and temp segments, Program errors (outside of RAM ), Improper NLS parameter settings, Hardware errors, Oracle block corruption
To solve this error, you need to use next alternative workarounds:
- Set _OPTIMIZER_COST_BASED_TRANSFORMATION = OFF;
– OR –
- Change the query.
NOTE:
_OPTIMIZER_COST_BASED_TRANSFORMATION controls whether or not the optimizer tries different transformations against a query using the cost with and without the transformations in order to determine if a transformation is useful or not.
The parameter can be set to any of: “exhaustive”, “iterative”, “linear”, “on”, “off” giving some control over how much effort is given to costing various transformations.
Cost based transformation can add a high overhead at parse time but can yield considerable benefits by way of a better plan for the statement.
