Expdp Parallel in Oracle

You can improve export and import performance by using Paralell option. PARALLEL parameter can be used only with Enterprise Edition of Oracle Database.

Parallelism count depends on the number of CPU. For this, data pump technology allows us to improve datapump performance with parallel parameters. Parallelism can be given as follows. This number of parallelism should not be used more than the number of CPU of the physical server.

You should use the %U wildcard to create multiple dumpfiles.

Dump files personel01.dmp,personel02.dmp,personel03.dmp….personel08.dmp and so on will be created in a round-robin fashion in the directories pointed to by the DATAPUMP directory. For best performance, these should be on separate I/O channels

You can use the PARALLEL parameter in the expdp and impdp as follows.

expdp \"/ as sysdba\" tables=HR.personel DIRECTORY=DATAPUMP DUMPFILE=personel%U.dmp LOGFILE=personel.log PARALLEL=8

You can use PARALEL parameter in the impdp as follows.
