How to Create a New Agent Registration Password on Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c | Securing agent… Failed

Hi,

I got ” Securing agent… Failed  ” error starting Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c agent ( EM Agent ) .

 

Details of error are as follows.

[MSDB2]/home/oracle $ /u01/app/oracle/product/agent13c/agent_inst/bin/emctl secure agent
Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c Release 2  
Copyright (c) 1996, 2016 Oracle Corporation.  All rights reserved.
Agent is already stopped...   Done.
Securing agent...   Started.
Enter Agent Registration Password : 
Invalid Agent Registration Password specified
Securing agent...   Failed.
[MSDB2]/home/oracle $

 

 

 

This error is related with the Agent Registration Password

To solve this error you should add new Registration Password or reset the Registration password.

I have chosen adding the new Registration Password.

You can add new Registration Password on Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c as follows.

 

After adding new registration password, you can try to secure agent as follows.

[MSDB2]/home/oracle $ /u01/app/oracle/product/agent13c/agent_inst/bin/emctl secure agent 
Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c Release 2 
Copyright (c) 1996, 2016 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
Agent is already stopped... Done.
Securing agent... Started.
Enter Agent Registration Password : 
Securing agent... Successful.
[MSDB2]/home/oracle $

 

 

 

Secure agent is done successfully.
