Hi,

In this article I will continue to explain Oracle RAC installation. In the previous articles, I explained the requirement of RAC installation and the installation of Grid Infrastructure. In this article, I will explain about creating Oracle RAC Database.

After completing Oracle RAC Database software installation, you can create Oracle database with DBCA tool like following.

 

Choose Oracle Real Application Cluster ( RAC ) database in this step.

 

 

 

Choose General purpose or Transaction processing in this step.

 

 

Name Database in this step.

 

 

Configure Enterprise manager in this step, or skip it.

 

Type Oracle administrative passwords for All accounts.

 

 

In this step,  select the Database Storage type as ASM, and here’s the Disk group in the Grid Infrastructure installation that we installed in the previous article.

 

 

 

You can specify Fast recovery area in this step or skip it.

 

 

Define SGA and PGA as %40 Percentage of Server.

Specify Processes.

 

Character set is determined in this step and  is not changed this property after installation,  so it must be properly set in advance.

 

 

 

 

 

Creating database with DBCA is started like following.

 

Database is created like following.

 

 

And RAC Database installation is complete,  check the CRS (Cluster Ready Services) services with the following commands, all services are properly installed and running.
