In this article I will continue to explain Oracle RAC installation. In the previous articles, I explained the requirement of RAC installation and the installation of Grid Infrastructure. In this article, I will explain about installing Oracle RAC Database Software.
Read previous article before this post.
We will install the Oracle Database Software executing runInstaller.sh as follows.
Skip Software updates.
Choose ” Install database software only ”
In this step, choose Oracle Database Software as Real Application Cluster instead of Single.
Choose Enterprise edition if you have Oracle Enterprise edition license
Type Oracle base and Home like following.
Select operating system groups.
Installation checks are done like following. You can ignore if they are not important.
Click Install button to start installation.
In this step, the root.sh script is executed with the root user on both servers respectively.
Oracle RAC database software was installed as above and creating the database with dbca tool will be explained in the next post.
