The Oracle database 18c installation file is downloaded from https://support.oracle.com or https://edelivery.oracle.com and transfered to the server. The related file is unzip and will be run from vncserver and run the runInstaller.sh file.
In the first step, we specify that only Oracle database software should be installed. When you select the first option, you can install both the Software installation and the database.
The second step asks whether the installation is a Single Instance or Real Application cluster. We chose Single Instance because we have only one node.
This step asks for the database edition preference. Especially in institutions, those who install this installation should pay attention. If you have an Enterprise Edition license, you should install Enterprise edition, and if your IT budget is low, you should install the Standard edition.
This step specifies the location of the Oracle database software.
This step specifies which groups of Operating system groups are matched.
The last step makes a final check before installation Oracle. RAM and Swap appears warning state. Since the environment in which we install is a test environment on Virtualbox, these values are limited. You can provide the required values according to your needs in live environment setups.
The installation summary is given for the last time before installation starts.
Installation is started, as usual, the installation is complete root.sh script step came. As I mentioned in the ASM 18c installation, you should run this script with the root user as follows.

Entries will be added to the /etc/oratab file as needed by Database Configuration Assistant when a database is created Finished running generic part of root script. Now product-specific root actions will be performed. Do you want to setup Oracle Trace File Analyzer (TFA) now ? yes|[no] : yes Installing Oracle Trace File Analyzer (TFA).
