ORA-39087: directory name is invalid

I got ” ORA-39087: directory name is invalid ”  error in Oracle database.

ORA-39087: directory name is invalid

Details of error are as follows.

[oracle@msdbadm01 ~]$ expdp mehmet/deveci DIRECTORY=datapump_dir DUMPFILE=mehmet.dmp logfile=mehmet.log schemas=mehmet

With the Partitioning, Automatic Storage Management, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options

ORA-39002: invalid operation

ORA-39070: Unable to open the log file.

ORA-39087: directory name datapump_dir is invalid

directory name is invalid

This ORA-39087 error is related with the missing or invalid of  directory.

Make sure that the /export/dump directory has 660 permission.

To solve this error, create or replace your directory and grant the following priviliges to user.

create or replace directory datapump_dir as '/export/dump';
grant read,write on directory datapump_dir to mehmet;
grant datapump_exp_full_database to mehmet;
grant datapump_imp_full_database to mehmet;
