ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel query server string

When I run the SQL as parallel execution using Parallel hint, I got ” ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel query server string ORA-08103 ” error.

Details of error are as follows.

SQL> SELECT REPORT_DAY,count(*) FROM MEHMET.DEVECI
2 GROUP BY REPORT_DAY;
SELECT REPORT_DAY,count(*) FROM MEHMET.DEVECI
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel query server P00B, instance
msddb01.msd.local:MSD1 (1)
ORA-08103: object no longer exists

ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel query server string

Cause: A parallel query server reached an exception condition.

Action: Check the following error message for the cause, and consult your error manual for the appropriate action.

 

ORA-08103: object no longer exists

This error is related with Partitioned table and Parallel execution on Cluster Nodes.

 

 

To solve this problem, You can run the same SQL as follows.

set the following trace events, then run the same SQL as follows.

alter session set events '10384 trace name context forever , level 16384';

 

SQL> alter session set events '10384 trace name context forever , level 16384';

Session altered.

SQL> ALTER SESSION SET PARALLEL_FORCE_LOCAL=TRUE;

Session altered.

SQL>
SQL> SELECT /*+ PARALLEL(16) */ REPORT_DAY,count(*) FROM MEHMET.DEVECI
2 GROUP BY REPORT_DAY;

Or To solve this error, Increase the  sort_area_size as follows.

SQL> show parameter sort_area

NAME TYPE VALUE
------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
sort_area_retained_size integer 0
sort_area_size integer 65536
SQL>



alter session set sort_area_size = 640000 scope=both sid='*';
