Sometimes You can get ” OGG-02028 Failed to attach to logmining server error 24,377 – ORA-24377: invalid OCI function code ” error on Extract process.
Details of error are as follows.
2020-09-18 09:31:07 ERROR OGG-02028 Failed to attach to logmining server OGG$MSDB02 error 24,377 - ORA-24377: invalid OCI function code. 2020-09-18 09:31:07 ERROR OGG-01668 PROCESS ABENDING.
This error is related with the upgrade on Source database. When you upgrade the source database, you will get this error on Extract process. We have upgraded the database from 11g to 19c, so our extract process got this error.
Because ogg build is wrong after db upgrade.
Goldengate has different ogg builds for each database version(oracle 11g , oracle 12c, Oracle 18c, Oracle 19c).
In other words a ogg build which is for Oracle 11g could not be used to capture/ replicat data to/ from oracle 12c.
To solve this error, you need to install the new Goldengate for Oracle 19c database (ogg build for 19c ).
