Hi
I will continue to explain Storage Server Disk operations in the Oracle Exadata in this article.
Read previous articles before this article.
Now let’s create the Cell Disk again that we’ve properly dropped and create Grid Disks from Cell Disk and add it to ASM Disk group step by step like following.
We’re creating a Cell Disk that we dropped on Cell Server 2 from Related LUN. If you type incorrect LUN for Cell disk, it will give the error as follows.
If you type correct LUN for related Cell, it will be created like following.
After creating a Cell Disk, I can create lots of Grid Disks from this Cell Disk as follows.
I can create a Grid Disk from a Cell Disk as much as I want, and add it to an existing Disk group or create a new disk group.
When I try to add a disk to the RECO disk, I can see the Grid disks I’ve created as below, so I can add it to the ASM disk like following.
You can query celldisk freespace and If there is freespace on any celldisk, we can create Griddisk from it.
You can create GridDisk from CellDisk like following.
You can list all grid disk like following.
You can add this Grid disk to the DATA Disk group.
You can drop this disk group with drop diskgroup command like following.
